Day One
Morally Perfect
Proverbs 31:10...A capable, intelligent, and virtuous woman - who is he who can find her? She is far more precious than jewels and her value is far above rubies or pearls...
We are living in a society that strives to be perfect by worldly standards. Pick up most magazines and you will see 'perfect' models with 'perfect' bodies. Or, if you turn on the television, you can see 'perfect' actors and 'perfect' actresses trying to turn fantasy into 'perfect' reality, for the purpose of entertainment. And the sad thing is, as Christians, we are more easily influenced by the world's morals and standards of perfection than we are the Word of God. So, what does it mean to be morally perfect? Matthew 5:48 says...You, therefore, must be perfect [growing in to complete maturity of godliness in mind and character having reached the proper height of virtue and integrity], as your heavenly Father is perfect. Paul tells us in the second letter to the Corinthians...finally brethren, farewell (rejoice)! Be strengthened (perfected, completed, made what you ought to be); be encouraged and consoled and comforted; be of the same [agreeable] mind one with another; live in peace, and [then] the God of love [Who is the source of affection, goodwill, love and benevolence toward men] and the Author and Promoter of peace will be with you...(2 Corinthians 13:11). The perfection of this world can bring about sometimes drastic changes in us by weight loss, hair color, make up or even a more toned body. The perfection of this world results in a fruit called self-focus. The perfection of the Father always brings about drastic changes in us. The perfection of the Father changes the focus of our will to His will. It changes the focus from our own needs to others' needs. The perfection of the Father results in the fruit of a vessel that looks like His Son. As we submit to His hand, we can truly become women of moral perfection, through Him.
1 Kings 8:61...Let your heart therefore be perfect with the Lord our God, to walk in His statutes, and to keep His commandments, as to this day...(King James Version).
A hearts' cry...Father, help me to understand that there is no fruit of joy and peace through the world's perfection. Only through the Son...
